Control is then passed to the nearest matching catch block for handling. If no catch block is available, the script terminates and the execution is marked as failed, ensuring failures are never silently swallowed. Results are ranked in a consistent order (i.e) the exact matches appear first, followed by results that start with the search term, and then results that contain it anywhere in the value. Enhancements Applications August 3 Enhancements to Zoho Creator On-Premise We've rolled out the version 2.6.1 of Zoho Creator On-premise. Enhancements Configurable file type restrictions for the File Upload field: The File Upload field has been enhanced with the ability to restrict the types of files that can be uploaded. You can now configure the allowed file types from the field properties. Once configured, every file uploaded by a user will be validated against the permitted types before it is accepted. Previously, the File Upload field accepted all file types without restriction. With this enhancement, administrators have greater control over the data collected through the field, helping ensure that only relevant and permitted file formats are submitted. Underlying data for Aggregates in Pages: The Aggregates element in Pages has been enhanced with a new action type called Underlying Data . When configured, clicking an aggregate value, such as Sum, in the live page will open a report displaying the related records that make up that value. Previously, aggregates in pages displayed calculated values without any drill-down capability. You can now configure the Underlying Data action from the Action pane in the page builder, giving end users a quick way to view the records behind an aggregate value. Field type property for Formula fields: Formula fields have been enhanced with the ability to set a field type, giving you greater control over how the formula result is displayed and formatted across your application. Previously, the field type of a Formula field was automatically determined based on its expression and could not be changed. A new Field type property is now available in the Field Properties pane, allowing you to map the formula result to a compatible field type. This helps ensure consistent formatting and display of values across forms, reports, and pages. Text-based results: Choose between Single Line, supporting up to 255 characters, and Multi Line, supporting up to 65,355 characters. Decimal-based results: Choose between Decimal, Currency, and Percentage. Selecting Currency unlocks additional properties such as currency code and display format. For all three field types, you can define the number of decimal places from 2 to 15. Other result types: The field type will continue to be selected automatically and cannot be changed. Jul Enhancements Integration flows July 31 Connection ownership transfer: You can now transfer or delete multiple connections (up to 30 at a time) from the Connections page. When a user leaves or is removed from the organization, unused connections are automatically deleted, while connections used in flows have their credentials removed so org admins can reconnect them later. Session optimization will no longer apply to flows with a delay. For cases like auto retry, resume, vendor delay, and user delay under 90 days, session optimization is now performed after session reconstruction. With this enhancement, batch workflows now halt execution early to prevent excessive failures and unnecessary resource usage. MFA trust days for portal: We've introduced the ability for admins to configure MFA trust days when multi-factor authentication is enabled for a portal. This setting defines the number of days a device will be trusted before the user is prompted to authenticate themselves again. Admins can now choose a trust duration ranging from none to 30 days, with 7 days set as the default. Changing email address of portal users: We've introduced an enhancement that allows Admins to update the email address of portal users. This is particularly helpful in scenarios such as when a user has lost access to their mailbox and is logged out of the portal. It is also useful in cases where an incorrect email address was entered during signup. The option to update a portal user's email address is available under the Portal Users section of the respective portal. Simply select the user and click Change Email from the three-dot (more options) menu. Please note that once the email address is updated, the portal user will be required to verify the new address before regaining access to the portal. Standardized UI error screens: We have standardized UI error screens across the platform with improved visual cues and contextual messaging. This enhancement makes it easier for users to understand and resolve issues. New application themes: We're pleased to announce that we have introduced a few New Themes in Zoho Creator. This helps keep your application's design aligned with current market trends while helping you establish a cohesive brand identity. Theme gallery: A refreshed gallery with a set of intuitive layouts to choose from. Currently, 8 attractive themes are available, with more themes already in the pipeline and set to roll out soon. Simplified colour customization: To make it easier to achieve consistent branding across your app, colour customization has been streamlined to focus on configuring Primary and Secondary colours. Going forward, new themes will be enabled by default for all newly created applications. For existing applications, navigate to Edit mode and click Try New Themes to experience the new themes. Portal users can also manage their passkeys through their preferred credential providers like iCloud Keychain, Google Password Manager, Microsoft account, and more. Enhancements Applications August 20 SAML authentication enhancement for portals We have rolled out enhancements to the user addition flow for Zoho Creator portals which use SAML authentication. Previously, there was no direct sync between the portal and the identity provider (IDP), requiring admins to manually add users under the Portal Users section before they could access the portal using SAML. With this new update, users from the IDP will now be automatically added as portal users upon signing up using SAML. The consumption of limits as per your pricing plan will be calculated as signups occur. Note: This feature is applicable only to public portals. Enhancements Applications August 20 Enhanced flow for Connection creation We’ve rolled out several updates to enhance the Connection creation flow, focusing on making it easier to create and authorize connections. The Connection Name will now be automatically generated once you choose the connector, and you can edit it anytime to fit your requirements. Going forward, the same authorization will be used for all environments by default, unless you check the Use different authorizations for each environment option. If you opt for this option, you’ll then be asked to choose which environment the authorization applies to. You no longer need to enter the Authorization Account name manually. It will be auto-generated based on the third-party account name (if available) or assigned a system-generated name. Jul Enhancements Integration flows July 31 Improved the UI elements related to rejecting an invitation on the Manage Organizations page. The Request an App form will now automatically close upon request submission. When deleting a custom function, users will now be shown a list of flows that are using that function. Frequently used apps will now be displayed at the top when searching for apps for the trigger. While searching for apps in the builder, apps for which you have connections will be shown in a separate section for easy access. Changes Applications July 26 Unified email management experience We’ve implemented a minor behavioral change to the Email Management section under Operations to unify the experience for both ZeptoMail and non-ZeptoMail linked users. Previously, if your account was associated with ZeptoMail under the Email Analytics, the Sender Email and Domain Authentication sections were disabled, and you had to go to ZeptoMail to make changes. This bug has been fixed. When app localization was enabled, some users were unable to rename the app on the App Summary page. This issue has now been resolved. A rare issue was detected when the same form was embedded multiple times on a page, with each form setting a field value to the same page variable. This caused the onload workflow to not trigger for certain forms when the page was loaded. This issue has now been resolved. Enhancements Applications July 12 Subform column freeze We've rolled out column freezing in subforms aimed at improving the editing experience within subforms that contain a large number of fields. Now, when editing subforms, the first one or two columns will automatically freeze depending on the viewport, providing a stable reference point as you navigate through the remaining fields. Enhancements Applications June 21 Deprecation of FCM server key in Rebranded Android apps We will be implementing a procedural update for configuring push notifications in rebranded Android apps due to Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) announcing the deprecation of FCM server key authorization. FCM is transitioning to an OAuth-based system using a Firebase service account (FSA) JSON file. The FCM server key will be deprecated by June 21, 2024 . If you have configured push notifications in your rebranded mobile apps using an FCM server key, please note that your push notifications will cease to function after this date.
